Although the focus seems to be on the new Panerai Luminor Due this year, with a small diameter, I like to give some attention to the new Panerai Luminor Base Logo and Luminor Marina Logo. These watches used to be equipped with the Unitas/ETA movement, but now have the new caliber P.6000 movement. Developed and manufactured at Panerai in Neuchatel. Lets have a quick look at these new watches. Before I start, let me tell you that all watches are water resistant to 10 bar (~ 100 meters) and have the P.6000 movement, that offers a power reserve of 72 hours. As you can see, the dials are not the typical sandwich dials, but instead have painted numerals.Panerai Luminor Base Logo
Three new references for the Luminor Base Logo model. This 44mm Panerai is something I consider the ur-Panerai Luminor, with no seconds hand. Just two hands, a large case and a hand-wound movement. How a Panerai is supposed to be, in my book. With the 72 hours power reserve, an in-house developed movement and a retail price of 4600 including VAT, quite an interesting proposition. Three variations are available, two with a black dial and one with a white dial. All watches have the OP logo at 6 oclock. The PAM00773 comes with a black dial with white printing. This watch has a black strap with white stitching, a perfect match to the dial. The PAM00774 has a black dial with a blue OP logo at 6 oclock. You will also find some blue elements in the grey fabric strap on this watch. The white dial version is PAM0775, with black Arabic numerals and youll find beige luminous dots above them. A very cool contrast. This reference comes on a brown leather strap.
